Un total de 138 filmes de no ficción buscan obtener el Oscar de Mejor Documental 2022, según reporta The Wrap. Aunque ésta no es la lista oficial, el reporte indica que los 138 documentales ya se encuentran disponibles en la plataforma de streaming exclusiva para miembros de la Academia; algunos podrían ser retirados tras revisiones y el anuncio oficial.
El 21 de diciembre, esta lista de 138 se reducirá a tan solo 15 cuando la Academia anuncie su lista de finalistas. Y como ya sabemos, de esos 15 solo 5 serán nominados.
En la lista encontramos a las favoritas de la temporada como “Flee”, reciente ganadora del Gotham Award 2021; “Summer of Soul”, ganadora del Documentary Critics’ Choice Award 2021; “The Rescue”, ganadora del TIFF Documentary People’s Choice Awards 2021; “Ascension”, ganadora de Mejor Documental en Tribeca 2021; entre otras.
