Es momento de conocer a los ganadores y ganadoras de los Critics’ Choice Awards 2022, premios de la crítica que buscan reconocer a lo mejor del cine y la televisión.
No podemos decir que los Critics’ Choice Awards buscan premiar al arte, más bien, por alguna razón, sus miembros intentan predecir los premios Oscar. Es por ello que encontramos un campo de nominaciones populistas, conformistas y estadounidenses que, en el momento de su anuncio, fueron una calca de las favoritas en Gold Derby (fenómeno que explicamos en este artículo). Por estas razones, los CCA suelen ser los premios más pobres de la temporada: sus miembros no buscan recompensar talento, sino copiarle a la Academia.
Y como gran muestra de lo que acabo de decir tuvimos esta terrible entrega de premios en donde los votantes simplemente escogieron a las películas y actuaciones favoritas al Oscar. como Will Smith (“King Richard”) y Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”). Si la entrega hubiera sido en enero, probablemente Stewart o Smit-McPhee hubieran ganado sus categorías, pero como ya no son las actuaciones favoritas al Oscar, entonces no votan por ellas. Es algo que hacen todos los años porque no tienen identidad y solo buscan predecir. Son borregos que se dejan llevar por la corriente y es vergonzoso.
Además, el show fue abominable en todo sentido. Uno de los anfitriones, Taye Diggs, fue insoportable (como todos los años); tuvimos más comerciales que categorías (y eso que son 40); algunas categorías eran presentadas con clips y otras no (por ejemplo, Mejor Actriz tuvo clips pero aleatoriamente no sucedió lo mismo con Mejro Actor); muchos premios, como Mejor Película Animada e Internacional, fueron anunciados de manera fugaz e irrespetuosa con un pantallazo que parecía diapositiva de Power Point; y los ganadores y ganadoras fueron predecibles y aburridos porque esta gente solo vota para predecir. Fue un show insoportable y un ejemplo de cómo no realizar una entrega de premios.
