Se dio a conocer la lista de canciones elegibles que buscarán el Oscar de Mejor Canción Original 2023. De las 82 posibilidades, solo 15 quedarán vivas cuando se anuncien las finalistas este 21 de diciembre.

Entre las canciones encontramos a algunas de las favoritas de la temporada como “Lift Me Up”, interpretada por Rihanna (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”); “Hold My Hand”, interpretada por Lady Gaga (“Top Gun: Maverick”); “Ciao Papa”, escrita por Guillermo del Toro (“Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio”); “Naatu Naatu”, del inolvidable acto musical de “RRR”; “Carolina”, interpretada por Taylor Swift (“Where the Crawdads Sing”); la terrible “Applause” de la bien conectada Diane Warren (“Tell It Like a Woman”); y “New Body Rhumba”, magnífica canción de LCD Soundsystem (“White Noise”). 

También en la lista tenemos a canciones con participación de Billie Eilish y Finneas (“Nobody Like U” de “Turning Red”), Selena Gomez (“My Mind & Me” de su documental), Joe Jonas (“Not Alone” de “Devotion”), Trent Reznor y Atticus Ross (“(You Made It Feel Like) Home” de “Bones and All”) y Shawn Mendes (“Carried Away” y ““Take a Look at Us Now” de “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile”).

Tristemente, debemos recordar que miembros de la Academia ni siquiera deben escuchar la canción completa o la película en donde aparece, pues solo escuchan un pequeño sample y a partir de eso emiten su voto (por eso, las nominaciones en esta categoría suelen ser terribles).
