Llegó el momento de conocer la lista de películas ganadoras de los Film Independent Spirit Awards 2023, premios que reconocen a lo mejor del cine independiente en Norteamérica.
Los Spirit Awards son un respiro de la temporada. Entre sus nominados encontramos excelentes películas que suelen pasar desapercibidas por otras entregas, así como cine de género o hasta animación compitiendo en categorías como Mejor Película o Mejor Edición. En años pasados, los Spirit nos han regalado grandes y merecidos ganadores como Willem Dafoe (“The Lighthouse”) en Mejor Actor de Reparto, los hermanos Safdie (“Uncut Gems”) en Mejor Dirección, “The Lost Daughter” en Mejor Película, Ruth Negga (“Passing”) en Mejor Actriz de Reparto, Ethan Hawke (“First Reformed”) en Mejor Actor y “Booksmart” en Mejor Ópera Prima, por mencionar a algunos.
“Everything Everywhere All at Once” dominó los Spirit Awards 2023, llevándose a casa Mejor Película, Dirección, Guion, Edición, Actuación Protagónica, Actuación de Reparto y Actuación Revelación. “Aftersun” obtuvo Ópera Prima, “Emily the Criminal” ganó Mejor Guion Debut y “TÁR” se quedó con Mejor Fotografía.
Además, la magnífica “Joyland”, película LGBTQ+ de Pakistán, obtuvo Mejor Película Internacional y “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed” ganó Mejor Documental. Estas fueran algunas de las mejores y más merecedoras victorias de la temporada; un ejemplo de lo lindo que pueden ser los Spirit Awards.
